Runnin' Down a Dream

Woot woot!! I'm so excited! After 40 very scary minutes, I was finally able to get registered for my first EVER half-marathon!! February will see me achieve my third biggest goal yet: 13.1 miles in the Disney Princess Half Marathon! The registration website had a number of problems when it opened at noon (I can only imagined it was flooded with hopeful runners) and it just couldn't keep up! The Disney races fill very quickly and they allow WDW annual passholders the opportunity to register early, so there was some fear I might not get a spot! Whew...

Training will go into full effect in October for 16 weeks of preparation! My eating will be clean and my training will be dirty-can't wait!!

Happy Tuesday all-keep aiming for your goals!

Hmmmm

Well, now that we have reached the final day, I am home and ready to buckle down! LOL. I have had an amazing summer so far but it was not great for eating well and exercising regularly.  I did my best and ended up 'down' in weight overall but not as good as I had hoped...alas.
I am starting a 21 Day Sugar Detox this morning and hope to get back on track.  I loved hanging out with you all and sharing encouragement, ups and downs.  If we do this again sometime in the fall, I will gladly join in!

Last Day motivation 7/13/2014

Happy Sunday! What a wonderful "vacation" I've had! Not what most would consider a vacation, but had some down time and was able to spend time with great friends! That sounds like a vacation to a girl who works 7 days!

I also had a great walk this morning with Maria and Susan with the Health Habits/Weight Loss Challenge! I've really enjoyed getting my workouts completed in the mornings. It starts my day off right and helps me make better food choices during the day. It also clears my head and boosts my energy!

Today is the last day of the challenge but I hope we'll stay in touch and continue to support and encourage each other. I know I keep saying it, but no matter your goals the support of family and friends is truly the only way to achieve them! Even if you have one person, make sure it's the one who isn't afraid to call you out when needed and will always cheer the loudest for you! That type of encouragement keeps you going! Of course, doing it for someone else is a great motivator too! Make it great!

Saturday motivation 7/12/2014

Happy Saturday!! A wonderful day ahead, starting with a busy Paws morning but I think I can finally make a trip to the Haile Farmer's market! Yay!
This weekend ends the 8 week healthy habits/weight loss challenge I've been a part of. These amazing women took on the goal of better health in 8 weeks! It hasn't always been easy and we've all struggled from time to time, but it's been great having a community to keep you going and support you! I call them "health warriors" because they have fought the battle! I know the challenge is ending but hopefully their journey toward better health won't.
If you haven't taken your first step, don 't know how or scared of failure, ask for help! The first step is the hardest, but taking it with a friend is so much easier! Make it great!

Home-stretch motivation 7/11/2014

Happy Friday! We made it! Had a great day yesterday spending time with great friends!
Today will be a little quieter, sticking around the house and getting a few overly neglected things taken care of (*cough, dirty dogs bathed, cough*). Of course having a little extra time means a full workout today! Here's the thing to remember: do what you can in the time available. I only had about 20-25 minutes yesterday, so I got in 2 miles. Not doing something shouldn't be an option. Too many fun things to do to have your health and body keep you from doing them! Make it great!

Goal!

I wish today were the last day of the challenge.  This morning I reached the upper limit of my goal weight -- four pounds less from where I started.  Certainly this challenge has been very helpful for that.  I probably won't stay at the goal weight immediately, but over time perhaps I will.  Last night I played tennis for 3.5 hours, so that doubtless contributed to the low weight this morning.  At least half of the mornings I weigh myself (every day when I am not traveling), I've been at goal weight + 1.  But unfortunately, those mornings hardly ever include a Sunday!  I guess Friday and Saturday night indulgences cost me there.
Hope everyone has a great week.  May we all move closer to our goals!
